This “Big Turbo” Ford Escort RS Cosworth is No.14 of the 200 Monte Carlo Edition cars built to celebrate Ford's win at the 1994 Monte Carlo Rally. Of those 200, this is one of only 70 made in right-hand drive. The paintwork is Mallard Green, and the cloth Recaro seats are believed to be original. The car has been MoT tested almost every year of its life, without accruing a single advisory, and the current certificate remains valid to 15/7/2026.
The car is is fitted with an impressive suite of performance upgrades, both in the engine bay and underneath, and it is accompanied by two, well stuffed lever-arch files. These contain a large collection of maintenance invoices going back to the 1990s, photos, MoT certificates, various spec sheets, letters and other documents from previous owners, including its first, and magazines in which the car has appeared.
History highlights include a full engine rebuild (using a new block) by a specialist in 2005. A dyno printout shows the new engine developing 375bhp and 380lb-ft.
Today the indicated mileage is 16,204. A note in the history records the mileage at the time of the 2005 engine rebuild as 09,090 miles. An HPI certificate in 2002 records the mileage as being c.96k at that time.
