Ce rare cabriolet 4 portes très apprécié des hommes d'affaires et chefs d’état, doit son surnom au chancelier ouest-allemand Konrad Adenauer qui l’appréciait tout particulièrement.
Construite sur mesure par les artisans les plus expérimentés de Mercedes-Benz, la série 300, qui était alors l'une des voitures, si pas la voiture la plus cher au monde, permet à la firme de Stuttgart de se replacer au premier rang des constructeurs automobiles de prestige en début des années 50.
Produite à seulement 591 exemplaires, il s’agit ici de l’un des 181 modèles construits en 1953.
Cette Adenauer d’origine Américaine, fût importée en Allemagne début des années 90 par son dernier propriétaire où elle bénéficia d’une restauration complète par la célèbre maison Böhringer-Wiltberger GmbH à Kernen-Stetten.
Environ 250.000 DM ont été dépensés dans la restauration (facture consultable dans le dossier).
Depuis l'achèvement de sa restauration, la voiture a parcouru moins de 10 000 km et est toujours dans un état remarquable.
La culasse du moteur a été révisée en 2014 et le véhicule a bénéficié d’une révision complète dans nos ateliers en 2021 avec la remise en état du carburateur et le changement des soufflets du pont arrière.
Le véhicule est actuellement visible dans notre showroom à Bruxelles.

This rare 4-door convertible, much appreciated by businessmen and heads of state, owes its nickname to the West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, who particularly appreciated it.
Custom-built by the most experienced craftsmen of Mercedes-Benz, the 300 series, which was then one of the cars, if not the most expensive car in the world, allows the Stuttgart firm to return to the forefront of prestigious car manufacturers in the early 1950s.
Produced at only 591 copies, this is one of the 181 models built in 1953.
This American-born Adenauer was imported to Germany in the early 90s by its last owner where it received a complete restoration by the famous Böhringer-Wiltberger GmbH in Kernen-Stetten.
About 250,000 DM were spent (invoice can be consulted in the file).
Since the completion of its restoration, the car has driven less than 10,000 km and is still in remarkable condition.
The engine cylinder head was overhauled in 2014 and the vehicle received a full overhaul in our workshops in 2021 with the overhaul of the carburetor and the change of the rear axle bellows.
The vehicle is currently visible in our showroom in Brussels.
